What is Ruidoso Downs?

Ruidoso Downs is one of the premiere venues for horse racing in New Mexico and is known across the country for a long tradition of racing firsts and record breaking. Starting in the 1930’s, Ruidoso Downs inherited a vibrant history of rodeos and horse racing in the region.

In recent years, the track has gained worldwide recognition as the only horse track in the U.S. and Europe that has both a quarter-horse straightaway and oval thoroughbred tracks, allowing for more variety in racing for visitors to enjoy.
