This attraction has far more recent historical significance, but it is a staple of the region nonetheless. Since 1997, this non-profit theater has been entertaining the masses through professional performances of the highest caliber. Broadway shows, European and American orchestras, dance companies, and famous comedians have all graced the community from this venue.
Perhaps the most interesting part of this theater, however, is the world fame it has garnered. The structure of the building is unique, designed by world-renowned architect Antoine Predock. In 2004, the Spencer Theater for the Performing Arts was named one of the seven outstanding theaters in the world by the United States Institute for Theater Technology. Other theaters that share this distinction include Zankel Hall, and the New Tempodrom in Germany.
